Researchers part of the “ice memory” research program from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice during an electromagnetic survey relating to the state of the Calderone glacier. The Calderone glacier is the southest glacier in Europe and therefore an important case study to monitor global climate change in the northern emisphere. Gran Sasso, Abruzzo, Italy.

Captain Giuliano Landini, seated in the restaurant of his motor ship “Stradivarius”. A former world champion in powerboating, Landini is one of the entrepreneurs who most insists on making the Po river entirely navigable through the creation of accumulation basins along the course of the river. In fact, for some years the numerous shallows and shallow waters have prevented the Stradivari from navigating as in the past. Environmentalist associations oppose the river basin because of the high environmental impact that the whole process would have on all the surrounding ecosystems. Boretto, April 2022.
The Po river near San Giacomo Po. The shoal that hit the river during 2022 is considered the worst in the last 200 years. In fact, the river has been subjected to intensive exploitation for years for the irrigation of the land, which combined with the lack of rain has produced devastating effects. Mantua, Italy. A project by Green&Blue and Contrasto. Seven Contrasto’s photographers documented the current state of the climate crisis in Italy, from its effects to the quest for solutions. Glaciers at risk of survival and the river Po, which has reached an all-time low in recent years, are the protagonists of Francesco Anselmi’s work. The resulting images have been exhibited at museo MAXXI in Rome.
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Solaia, the seasons of the renowned wine seen by Gianni Berengo Gardin, Francesco Anselmi, Massimo Siragusa and Mattia Zoppellaro.
“Today, Solaia is only produced in exceptional vintages and, together with Tignanello, it is our most acclaimed and sought after wine by wine enthusiasts all over the world. We therefore decided to dedicate a book in order to narrate Solaia with photographs. A detailed account composed of the fascinating details of work in the vineyard and cellar, the daily labor of men and women passionate about winegrowing and images of our wonderful Chianti Classico region.” —Piero Antinori
